Hendricks Reunion at Cherry Hill

Our Annual Hendricks Family Reunion at Cherry Hill.  We get together for lunch under the pavillion with Randy's family every year at this time.  It wouldn't be complete without a picture on "the wall" of the little girls.  Ruby is not sure she wants to participate and is trying to get away!!
 The returning golfers

Last year we started a tradition (I hope) - we mini golf either before or after the reunion.  The girls loved it last year so I wanted to keep it up.  We met before the reunion this year to try to golf before it got too hot.  Kennedy and Meili were getting into it as well this year, but Chloe, Audrey and Gigi knew more what to do because they golfed last year!!

A much needed rest in the shade with Aunt Kaleena.

Shasta didn't really get it.  Knowing Nick she will get it next year!!

Josh is trying to help Meili - showing her how it is done.

Different Golf Styles

Gigi was quite serious about her golfing this year.  She has a wicked swing!

 Meili golfs one handed . . .

Chloe was dragging the ball up the hill - too hard to hit it to the top!

Kennedy is surveying the shot - with the help of Mom, Dad and Grandpa.

Looks like Audrey missed with the first swing - she wasn't discouraged though, she told me she Loves golf!!

I don't know what they are looking at but this is almost everyone . . .

Shasta just wanted to be let alone to do her thing.

Ruby was a good sport to sit and watch.
All in all we had a great time and the little girls and I would like to make this a yearly tradition.  I don't know if their parents are as excited about that.  They weren't able to do any serious miniature golfing or score keeping because their balls were rolling into little (in the way) feet and being picked up by well meaning little hands.  What is really important is that the children have a good time and make some lasting memories.  Sorry to the extended Hendricks family for being late for the picnic portion of the reunion.  Thanks for loving us even though we were late!!

Shasta's First Birthday

Shasta's First Birthday Party was held at Merlin Olson Park - Randy and I got there late - we had a flat tire on the way - and thanks to Firestone's great service (sarcasm) we were only and hour and a half late!!
It was a cold day - we all had on jackets and hoodies but were not deterred enough by the cold to not have fun!
The little girls all had a ball playing together and
Nick and Sara spoiled them with treat bags filled with toys and candy.  This is a picture of the group - it is interesting that Emily is holding Meili (Kaleena's baby) and Kaleena is holding Ruby (Emily's baby)!

Nick and Sara and Shasta - Family Photo
They went all out for Shasta's party.  Good job Mom and Dad!!

Shasta - enjoying her birthday cake.  Nick and Sara had made her two cakes - both in the shape of a Shasta soda pop can.  They were works of art!  This is Shasta's small personal cake.  We all shared the large Shasta can. (cake)

Shasta wasn't sure about this hat!  It reminded me of Wedge's first birthday when they made him wear a hat too! It didn't bother her too much though.

Emily posing with Ruby who is not sure she is enjoying this whole day- Gigi is in the shot too!

Our oldest granddaughters - and the silliest!  Chloe has lost a tooth as you can see and Audrey is her buddy.  They are going through a phase where they can't just smile for the camera, they have to pull faces.  Chloe is better at that than Audrey.  Audrey is just looking sweet.  They like the hats!!

Kennedy is showing us how she can stick out her tongue and spit.  Her new talent! We all got a big kick out of it!! She is hilarious and uninhibited!

Gigi is saying cheese to the best of her ability.  She had a squirt gun in her bag of toys which she really enjoyed!!
Meili is eating ice cream with a little wooden spoon.  The kids all got cake in ice cream cones and their own individual ice cream cups.  Meili had a hat on but soon realized that if you pull on the elastic string it flips you in the face.  She didn't like the hat anymore after that.

Easter is early at Grandma's house

Easter came early this year in Bountiful.  We were celebrating the March birthdays on the 24th of March, and I decided if I wanted to do an Easter egg hunt, it would have to be the same weekend.  The back yard is still very dead looking, but at least there wasn't any snow and the weather was good for the little ones.

Gigi is very pleased with her finds!! Don't you just love that face??
Nick is helping his little Shasta, she didn't really get it this year.  Just wait till next year!

Kaleena is helping Meili too, but she was walking around taking it all in.  She ended up with some treasures. She has a temporary Jazz tattoo on her cheek - Kaleena and Josh took her to a Jazz game the night before.

Kennedy loved it and Bethany was helping her. Her face says it all.  Finding surprises is such great fun! That is Audrey in the background looking out for her little sister.

Chloe and Audrey were the big winners.  They really got in to it and understood the urgency of hurrying to find as many eggs as possible.  But - they also gave up some of their eggs to the little ones, they are sweet kind hearted little girls! And best buddies!!

Kennedy Turns Two

Kennedy turned 2 on March 14th. We celebrated her birthday with all of the other March birthdays on March 24th. She was in to opening presents this year and everyone else wanted to play with the stuff she got!!

This is how many fingers two is . . .

Mommy makes good cake!
